Set to the backdrop of a grungy apartment in the upper west side of Manhattan, ’This is Our Youth’ follows the unfolding of events after Warren gets kicked out of home, steals $15,000 from his father, and runs to Dennis for help. The show tackles issues of adolescence, maturity, materialism and what a pair of weed smoking boys decide to do with a large sum of money.
Auditions will be in 10 minute slots from 10:30am on Sunday March 28th at the Carlisle Hotel – with callbacks the evening of Wednesday March 31st.
Actors are required to perform a 1-2 minute contemporary monologue, & will be asked to read excerpts from the script.
Available roles:
Dennis Ziegler (21): A grungy handsome & athletic young man, with a bully’s personality. A high school God, Warren’s hero.
Warren Straub (19): A skinny & squeamish young man with a knack for trouble. Caring & thoughtful, whilst simultaneously self-destructive.
Jessica Goldman (19): An insightful & head strong fashion student, who does not do small talk.
All roles require standard US accents.

This play contains strong language, some violence, drug use & references, & requires stage intimacy between Warren & Jessica.
Rehearsals will initially be in long blocks on Sundays from April 11th.
The season is planned for July/August, to be performed at The Court.
