THE PLAY
A writer of children’s stories is popular in his field, but not at home, where he is a calculating sadist. His wife turns to another man for affection, and eventually the two of them devise a fool-proof plan to do away with the husband. Can the pair get away with what they consider to be the “perfect murder”, or will others conspire to ruin their fool-proof plan?
THE CHARACTERS
CHARLES NORBURY: Children’s books author. Playing age 40’s/50’s. Nasty – the audience will not like him!
ANNE NORBURY: Charles’ long-suffering wife. Playing age 40’s/50’s. Very attractive.
PETER MARRIOTT: Anne’s lover. Playing age 30’s/40’s. Architect. Good looking, strong, intelligent.
EILEEN FORBES: Charles’ secretary. Playing age 30’s. Plain but pretty. Wily character.
INSPECTOR DAVIDSON: Any age, mature preferred. Softly spoken.
CONSTABLE NASH: Any age, younger than Inspector Davidson. Pleasant in nature.
Please note: All characters will have an English accent and be well spoken.
Auditions to be held on Saturday 12 March 10am to 5pm at the Old Mill Theatre.
Rehearsals will be on the evenings of Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Saturday afternoons, commencing Tuesday 29 March.
Season is from June 3 to June 18.
Please note: All auditionees will be required to wear a mask during the auditions and will have to show proof of being fully vaccinated.
