TWELFTH NIGHT by William Shakespeare
Directed by Michael McCall
Event by Hayman Theatre Company
Tickets curtin.edu/haymanboxoffice
Disguise and deceit lead to misadventure, madness and mistaken love in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, one of the great comedies of any time! The story goes that Orsino loves Olivia, but Olivia loves Cesario, who actually loves Orsino, for Cesario is actually Viola…and we’re still only in Act One! Filled with a host of gregarious personalities and outlandish scenarios “Twelfth Night” will leave audiences in stitches as they unravel Shakespeare’s comic knots.
A series of beautifully crafted vignettes threaded together into a rich, comic tapestry, “Twelfth Night” is highly accessible, even to those unfamiliar with Shakespeare. The characters chart a journey of highs and lows, from ruin to redemption and back again, as they move towards their ultimate discovery: ‘Who will love me as I am?’
