Modicum Theatre Perth is producing William Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’ directed by Leigh Fitzpatrick.
The Tempest is a community theatre production and all roles are unpaid.

Both rooms are in the Amenities building at Murdoch’s South Street campus. Maps will be provided in the Facebook event.

Please prepare a short classical monologue (comedic or dramatic) and be prepared to cold-read some scenes that will be provided.

The Tempest is a comedy of ultimate power and its ultimate cost:
A powerful wizard and his naïve daughter are stranded on a strange and magical island. When a chance for revenge presents itself, the highest and lowest impulses of humanity wrestle across love, hate, and forgiveness.
We are looking to cast 12 actors in roles for this production. Smaller roles may involve doubling. Roles are open to people of all genders.
The available roles are:
A magician- For whom our reality has lost any sense of importance.
Two powerful magical creatures- Robbed of their freedom by the wizard.
Two lovers- Innocent of the world and unable to understand its dangers.
Two clowns- Drunkenly plotting impossible fantasies.
The Nobility- Schemers, traitors, old fools, and young idealists.
Modicum Theatre Perth puts on community theatre targeted at amateurs, students and hobbyists. All people are welcome to audition for Modicum Theatre Perth productions, but must be prepared to become a member if they are cast in the production.
Membership is $15/year or $10/year for concessions.
5-8:30pm Thursdays starting on the18th April
1-5pm Saturdays starting on the 20th April
Production week will run for a week (Sunday-Sunday) in late July. Dates will be confirmed by the first rehearsals.
Shows will be on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday of production week. Exact times will be confirmed by the first rehearsals.
