SYNOPSIS

A devoted man of science, Dr. Henry Jekyll is driven to find a chemical breakthrough that can solve some of mankind’s most challenging medical dilemmas.
Rebuffed by the powers that be, he decides to make himself the subject of his own experimental treatments, accidentally unleashing his inner demons along with the man that the world would come to know as Mr. Hyde.

AUDITION INFORMATION
Auditions will be held at Don Russell Theatre on the 7 th of
December 2019 as follows:
1) Male leads (including supporting leads): 10 am – 12pm
2) Female leads (including supporting leads): 12 – 2pm
3) Ensemble: 2 – 4pm
PLEASE NOTE: You may be asked to stay back for other sections if required.
READ ALL FOLLOWING INFORMATION so not to miss anything critical.
ALL auditionees will need to prepare 2 songs of their choosing. Please choose wisely in order to show off your vocal range, as well as characterisation for the role you will be auditioning for. Please choose 2 songs that are opposite in style and/ or tempo (for example, a ballad and a character song). They may be from the musical Jekyll & Hyde if you wish, but this is not expected.
SOME auditionees will be required to do a ‘movement’ audition. There is no dancing in this musical, however some ‘movement’ is required for particular roles. This section cannot be prepared and will be taught on the day. Please wear suitable clothing/ shoes for auditions just in case.
Auditionees for the role/s DR JEKYLL AND MR HYDE will also need to prepare the extra song: ‘Confrontation’ from Jekyll and Hyde the Musical (backing tracks will be provided for auditions and attached to audition pack for practice) Please note: This part can be played by
either one person or two. The preference of the director would be to find one person to play both characters. However, this is completely dependent on what is shown at auditions and can be up for interpretation. The difference between Jekyll and Hyde’s vocal tone and posture must be evident and shown during this song. Please find character list below and then fill out the following audition form and bring with you on the day of auditions. Please note that the ‘stage age’ is how old/ young you can look on stage, and does not necessarily refer to your actual age.
