AUDITION NOTICE
IN SIGHT OF THE SEA by Lis Hoffmann and Phil Jeng Kane and directed by Lis Hoffmann presented by Harbour Theatre Inc
DATE: Saturday 5th March 10-6pm
VENUE: Camelot Theatre – 16 Lochee St, Mosman Park
Synopsis Freewheeling DJ Adam’s life was a car crash. Literally. Now he’s back from hospital with a brand new attitude. He’s moved into a flash Cottesloe apartment and he is totally pumped to live a better life. His only obstacles are a severe lack of money and Juanita, the wily, obsessive landlady.
But his best mate the stitched up but falling apart Tobey, recently returned in mysterious haste from Canada, is there to lean on. Although first, Tobey needs to get over his fixation on the unsuitable Bree, unpack his attitude to love, and bake the perfect layer cake.
Adam’s ex-girlfriend Samantha turns up, hell bent on cracking the code that is Adam. She’s a lost girl with a reputation for anger issues and impulse control who only accidentally breaks furniture. Tobey hates her on sight.
Adam, Tobey and Sam may be drawn together by hope, need and an excellent deal on the rent. But nothing is as it seems in sight of the sea. there’s always an undertow taking you places you don’t expect.
This funny and moving comedy/drama shows us there are times in life where we need to make changes. Or change will be forced upon us.
