IN SIGHT OF THE SEA by Lis Hoffmann and Phil Jeng Kane has an season at Harbour Theatre in July.
We have cast all our characters except for the lead role of Samantha. Sam is 18-25, uneasy in her own skin. She’s angry, intuitive and a little bit strange.
We are holding further auditions for Sam on Monday 16th May from 7.30pm at Camelot Arts, 16 Lochee St, Mosman Park.
Please contact Lis at firstname.lastname@example.org to book an audition time. Actors are invited to prepare the monologue they feel shows their acting chops off to best advantage. Be prepared to do it differently on request!! Sides will be supplied when you book your audition time. Please note, you are required to be double vaccinated at this venue. This is an unpaid production.
IN SIGHT OF THE SEA SYNOPSIS
Freewheeling DJ Adam’s life was a car crash. Literally. Now he’s back from hospital with a brand new attitude. He’s moved into a flash Cottesloe apartment and he is totally pumped to live a better life.
His best mate the stitched up but falling apart Tobey, recently returned in mysterious haste from Canada, is there to lean on. Although first, Tobey needs to get over his fixation on the unsuitable Bree, unpack his attitude to love, and bake the perfect layer cake.
Adam’s ex-girlfriend Samantha turns up, hell bent on cracking the code that is Adam. She’s a lost girl with a reputation for anger issues and impulse control who only accidentally breaks furniture. Tobey hates her on sight.
Adam, Tobey and Sam may be drawn together by hope, need and an excellent deal on the rent. But in sight of the sea, there’s always an undertow taking you places you don’t expect.
This funny and moving comedy/drama shows us there are times in life where we need to make changes. Or change will be forced upon us
