THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE is the final production in the Koorliny Arts Centre and Kwinana Industries Council 2019 Performance Season.
SYNOPSIS: Siblings Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy have been sent away from London during the air-raids at the height of World War II. They arrive at the countryside house of a kind but eccentric Professor, and as the children explore the house, Lucy winds up in a room which is empty except for a large wardrobe. While hiding in the wardrobe Lucy stumbles into the world of Narnia. Lucy and her siblings eventually enter Narnia together and embark on a magical mystery tour of the magical land. There they encounter the wicked White Witch, representing the forces of evil, and the King of the Beasts, Aslan the Lion, representing all that is good and right. Along their journey to restore peace to Narnia, the children encounter a menagerie of colourful, magical and sometimes terrifying creatures. Ultimately, the children must come to deal with their personal, real-world traumas brought on by the war, air raids over London and the evacuation away from their home and family, to be able to lead Narnia into a new age of peace.
AVAILABLE ROLES: See audition pack. THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE is very much an ensemble show. Almost ALL cast members will participate in multiple elements/roles on stage. A large ensemble of ‘Narnians’ is required.
