four short plays
Lots of dogs have appeared suddenly.
No idea where they came from or what they’re doing. There’s just like, lots of them. These plays document this sudden dog-filled world from the suburbs to the clubs to the end of the barrel of a gun to one of those automated public toilets forgot what they’re called.

We gave four playwrights across Australia the same prompt off which to produce a play, with no other limitations. The result is Woof., four plays, similar in that they share the same world, but worlds apart otherwise. Between four 15 minutes pieces, prepare for a frantic night of flirting, flushing, hostage-situations and hangovers. And dogs. So many dogs.

Runaway Balloon wishes to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land we will rehearse and perform on, the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation. We wish to acknowledge and respect their continuing culture and the contribution they make to the life of this city and this region. Sovereignty was never ceded, this was and always will be Aboriginal land.
